Fort Loudoun Lake has 379 miles of shoreline and 14,600 acres of water surface. Fort Loudon is located on the Tennessee River and is the uppermost in the chain of nine TVA reservoirs that form a continuous navigable channel to Paducah, KY, 652 miles away. Fort LoudounLake is formed by the Holston, French Broad and Little Tennessee rivers and is named for the close by historic Fort Loudon. Loudon, Blount and Knox counties surround the lake which offers year-round recreation including: boating, fishing, waterskiing, jetskiing, swimming, camping, public parks, public lake access areas and much more. Fort Loudoun Lake feeds into Tellico Lake and a quick boat ride through Fort Loudon dam puts you on beautiful Watts Bar Lake. No matter what type of property you are looking for, Fort Loudoun Lake will most likely have it! All along the banks you will find an array of many different styles of waterfront neighborhoods. Yacht clubs, marinas and restaurants are also dotted all along the shores of Fort Loudoun Lake.
Fort Loudoun Lake is home to the “University of Tennessee’s Volunteer Navy” which navigates it way up to Volunteer Landing located nearby to Neyland Stadium home of the Univeristy of Tennessee Volunteers during football season. Fort Loudoun Lake and Knoxville are also home to the largest fireworks show in the nation – Boombs Day. Many waterfront events take place all along Fort Loudoun Lake during the warmer months. This lake is a wonderful place to locate to as it is convenient to most Knoxville areas.
